Estimates of the numbers of women who are affected by sexual dysfunction are 43% compared to 31% of men.

The majority of women do not seek a physicians help the main reason being that no pharmaceutical has yet been approved for the treatment of female sexual dysfunction and doctors have no protocol (other than hormone replacement) for this condition.

Female sexual dysfunction has many possible symptoms and causes. Fortunately, they're almost all treatable. Communicating your concerns and understanding your body and its normal response to sexual activity are important steps toward gaining sexual satisfaction.

There are many problems that can keep a woman from enjoying sex. They include

  • Lack of sexual desire
  • Inability to become aroused
  • Lack of orgasm, or sexual climax
  • Painful intercourse
These problems may have physical or psychological causes. Physical causes may include conditions like diabetes, heart disease, nerve disorders or hormone problems. Some drugs can also affect desire and function. Psychological causes may include work-related stress and anxiety. They may also include depression or concerns about marriage or relationship problems. For some women, the problem results from past sexual trauma.

Female sexual dysfunction isn't uncommon — many women experience problems with sexual function at some point in their lives. Female sexual dysfunction can be a lifelong problem, or it can happen later in life after you've experienced a period of satisfactory functioning.

The Mediterranean Diet has ben shown to improve sexual function in women with the metabolic syndrome. The women who had participated in this study had consumed more fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains and olive oil. An authentic Mediterranean-style diet is rich in whole grain, fruits, vegetables, legumes, fresh and dried herbs, nuts and seeds,  walnut, and olive oil,  fish and seafood , red wine and  reduces meat, meat products and refined cereals, sugars and other processed and refined foods.

Simple Steps You Can Take To Reverse Female Sexual Dysfunction
  1. Cordyceps sinensis extract: It balances the communication pathways between the brain and the body, optimizes adrenal function, anti-inflammatory, reduces oxiditive stress, boosts energy production.
  2. Maca: Maintains balanced brain chemistry (neurotransmitters), aids the body in managing stress better, optimize signals from grain to the body.
  3. Adopting A Mediterranean Diet.
  4. Yoga: is a popular form of complementary and alternative therapy. It improves all six domains of female dysfunction (i.e. desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and pain). The improvement was more prominent in women over the age of 45 years.
