A Nervous System Reset in Nature ...

Reconnect. Restore. Rebalance.
In today’s fast-paced, overstimulated world, many of us are living in a constant state of stress — mentally busy, emotionally depleted, and physically tense. Forest Therapy offers a gentle yet powerful way to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and support your nervous system through guided time in nature.

Rooted in evidence-based practices and inspired by the Japanese concept of Shinrin-Yoku (forest bathing), Forest Therapy is not about hiking or exercise. It is about being — engaging your senses, calming the mind, and allowing the natural environment to support deep restoration.

What Is Forest Therapy?

Forest Therapy is a guided, slow-paced experience in nature designed to:
  • Reduce stress and nervous system overload
  • Support emotional regulation and mental clarity
  • Improve mood, sleep, and overall wellbeing
  • Create a sense of grounding, presence, and connection

Sessions take place in a tiny Cypriot village called Agridia, nestled in a pine forest, the perfect peaceful natural setting and are accessible to all fitness levels. No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to slow down.

Who Is Forest Therapy For?

Forest Therapy is particularly supportive for:
  • Women 40+ navigating stress, depression, hormonal changes, or life transitions
  • Busy professionals experiencing overwhelm or burnout
  • Those struggling with emotional eating, fatigue, or mental overload
  • Anyone feeling disconnected from themselves or nature
  • Individuals seeking a gentle, non-clinical approach to wellbeing

It is ideal if you feel “constantly on,” mentally tired, or in need of space to breathe.

How Forest Therapy Supports Your Health

Time spent in nature has been shown to:
  • Lower cortisol (stress hormone) levels
  • Calm the nervous system and support parasympathetic activation
  • Improve focus, creativity, and emotional resilience
  • Enhance overall wellbeing and immune function

From a holistic perspective, nervous system regulation is foundational to digestion, hormonal balance, weight management, and long-term health.

Forest Therapy & Holistic Nutrition

Forest Therapy can be experienced on its own or as a powerful complement to holistic nutrition work.

When the nervous system is calmer:
  • Digestion improves
  • Emotional eating patterns soften
  • Lifestyle changes feel more sustainable
  • The body becomes more receptive to healing

This integrative approach supports both the mind and body, creating lasting change rather than quick fixes.

Forest Therapy is offered as:
  • 1:1 Forest Therapy Sessions – personalised and deeply restorative

Accessibility, Terrain & What to Bring

Forest therapy sessions take place in and around Agridia, a mountain village with naturally varied terrain. As such, walking routes may include uneven ground and occasional steep inclines or declines.

For this reason, forest therapy walks may not be suitable for individuals with significant knee, hip, ankle, or mobility concerns, or for those unable to walk at a gentle, unhurried pace for approximately 2–5 kilometres.

Each session will be clearly classified as easy, intermediate, or more challenging, based on the steepness and overall difficulty of the route, so participants can choose an option that feels appropriate for their comfort and ability.

What to Wear & Bring

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, participants are encouraged to come prepared:
  • Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
  • Warm layers for autumn and winter
  • Light, breathable clothing for spring and summer
  • Supportive walking or hiking shoes with good grip
  • A small rucksack
  • A reusable water bottle
  • One or two light, nourishing snacks

The intention is not speed or distance, but presence, safety, and gentle immersion in nature—allowing the body and nervous system to fully benefit from the experience.

Medical Disclaimer

Forest Therapy sessions are intended as a complementary wellness experience and are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Participants are responsible for assessing their own physical and medical suitability before attending. If you have any medical conditions, mobility limitations, cardiovascular concerns, injuries, or are currently under medical care, please consult your healthcare provider prior to participating.

By taking part in a Forest Therapy session, you acknowledge that you do so voluntarily and at your own discretion, and that you are physically able to engage in gentle walking on natural terrain.

If you have any questions about suitability, you are encouraged to get in touch in advance so we can determine whether a session is appropriate for you.

Liability Waiver & Participant Agreement

Participation in Forest Therapy sessions involves walking in natural outdoor environments, which may include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, birds, insects, snakes and varying weather conditions. By choosing to participate, you acknowledge these inherent risks and confirm that you are physically and medically fit to take part.

All participants are required to read and sign a Liability Waiver and Consent Form prior to the session.

By signing this form, you agree to participate voluntarily and at your own risk, and you release Barbara Karafokas from liability for injury, loss, or damage that may occur during or as a result of participation.

Signing the liability form confirms that you understand the nature of the activity, accept personal responsibility for your wellbeing during the session, and agree to follow all guidance provided for safety and wellbeing.
